This album 🎶 means so much to me—not just because it captures the raw magic ✨ of performing live, but because it’s tied to a place that’s been special throughout my life. Recording this project at the Strand Theater 🎭 in Old Forge, NY—a place I visited often as a kid—felt like coming full circle 🔄. When my family went camping 🏕️ in the Adirondack mountains, we’d stop at the Strand, and returning to perform here after all these years was like rediscovering pieces of my past 🧳 in a place I thought I already knew.
Working with the wonderful folks at WPBS 📺 again, as well as Bob and Helen at the Strand, made the experience even more meaningful 💙. I also want to give a heartfelt thank-you to my dear friend Corin Nelsen for being, once again, the audio guru 🎛️—capturing, mixing, and mastering this performance to perfection 🎧. His incredible attention to detail 🛠️ helped bring the music to life in ways I can’t fully express, and I’m grateful for his expertise and friendship throughout this journey 🤝.
This performance spans over 200 years of music, reaching back to the early 1800s 🎼 and blending holiday classics with pieces that hold deep personal significance, as well as newly released material. From cherished traditional songs to important works from my catalog, this set represents a journey through the timeless spirit of the season and beyond. Recorded live in a beautiful setting and soon to be televised across national PBS stations 📺, I encourage you to check your local listings 📅. And if you'd like to experience the full performance right away, you can enjoy it in its entirety here 🎶.
The order offers not only the physical album 💿 but also guitar tablature 🎸/sheet music 📑, t-shirts 👕, hoodies 🧥, virtual guitar lessons 🎶—and more. These make perfect gifts 🎁 for family or friends (or yourself!). This album holds a special place in my heart ❤️, and it’s an honor to share it with you. I hope these songs and the PBS broadcast will become part of your holiday traditions 🎄, greeting you year after year for many Christmas seasons to come 🌟.
This performance was recorded for public television broadcast syndication by WPBS-TV, made possible through the generous support of Great Camp Sagamore, the Central Adirondack Association, Old Forge Tourism, the View Center for Arts and Culture, and the Cloudsplitter Foundation. A huge thank-you to the talented video crew 🎥—Ed Blomeley, Willi Puerstl, and Chris Corriveau—for capturing every moment so beautifully.
